Valencia CF recognise Oncology Departments in Valencian hospitals
As part of World Cancer Day, which is celebrated on February 4th each year, Valencia CF invited representatives of the Oncology Departments at Valencian hospitals to the Copa del Rey match this past Wednesday.
Valencia CF president, Anil Murthy, and the executive director and board member of Valencia CF, Joey Lim, received the heads of Oncology at the La Fe hospital, Dr. José Gómez; IVO, Dr. Vicente Guillem; Hospital General, Dr. Carlos Camps; IMED, Dr. Pablo Soler; and Dr. Miguel Corbellas, part of the Oncology Service of the Hospital Doctor Peset. All of them received the club's souvenir insignia.

The club wanted to recognise the much-needed work of medical professionals in the fight against cancer, and highlight the importance of research in this process.
Dr. José Gómez commented that "It has very important symbolic significance, because February 4th is World Cancer Day. It's a very nice gesture from the club and the society around it. They have invited all of the Heads of Oncology in Valencia here, as a symbolic display of support for the fight against cancer that we are all involved in, every day."
"We only have to look at how many people are outside. It's fantastic to see the ability to call people into action that a club like Valencia CF have, and the social impact that a club showing support for the fight against cancer has."
